Stamped Eighty-Nine

89Since Christmas Literary Mix Tapes has grown exponentially, from  a Christmas goof-off to a quarterly anthology with a reputation for outstanding and original short fiction.

Over the past few months a tight-knit community of writers has grown and we’re about to open the doors and welcome in some more new writers.

There are ten places available for the upcoming anthology “Eighty-Nine”, a retro-themed speculative fiction collection.

Writers are challenged to:

  • choose a song from the playlist as their prompt
  • write a 1500 word story (+/- 5%) based on that prompt
  • combine the best (or worse) of the year 1989 with the best in speculative fiction

The anthology will include 26 stories and be web-published (for free) on the 21st of June to coincide with the solstice. From the 23rd June onward, it will be available for purchase as a paperback and eBook.

There will be two small windows of opportunity for writers to sign on. These opportunities will be on Monday, 4th April and will accomodate five nominations at each window (nominations are made by leaving a comment on the appropriate post). The first five comments will get inclusion.
